  Reception Theory 1. The preferred reading of a media text is that it can get the audience to feel a certain way and be influenced by their reading so that they can carry out their message by using codes and conventions. 2. The Oppositional reading of a media text is that it is going against what the producers are creating it does not give the positive message that it wants and can put the audience in a difficult position as if they should change their view or not. 3. The Harry Brown trailer wants the audience to respond to the teenage characters in the film to think that the kids are misbehaving which leads them to commit bad things such as crime, and drugs because of the influences around them and around their environment.
