It is reinforced as Lyra is the hero as she is breaking the typical representation of the role model of a male hero.Mrs Coulter is represented as Manipulative and charming as she uses her own beauty and charm to get what she wants. She also can be cruel but has a soft side for her daughter Lyra. It is subverted as Mrs Coulter sometimes uses her feminine charm in a manipulative way, which can be seen as a stereotype.

He protects those people he loves so it is as if taking an adult responsibility also not giving up easy. Will is not just tough but kind, emotional, caring. Lee Scoresby is loyal to his friends and allies, especially Lyra. He is brave as he faces the risks, cares about others. 5) What representations of the world can you find in the episode - is it like real life? A fantasy world? Something from the past or future? Give examples from the episode.
The representations of the world is that it Is a fantasy world as there are witches,Daemons a pet that Lyra has which is very unlikely for a human to have and that even speaks to them as we know that is not possible at all. The airships can be from the past, technoloy design from the Victorian era. Also the parallel words are from the future the idea of multiple universes not just 1, that involves scientific worlds too.
