 1. What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience?

The information that Media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience is 

Age- How old they are the age group if they are targeting young people or adults.
Gender by finding out what best suits them.
Education- If they are in school/college or university helping us know this makes it more quicker
Social class- Social class refers to the groups that they are categorized which is all of these examples listed down. These are often categorized such as lower class, working class, middle class, and upper class.
Race/ethnicity- Race and ethnicity help us know about the person more so that we are able to find the best movie for that specific race and country. For example Spain you would put a movie that is in Spanish.
Job/profession/earnings- What Job do they do and how much money do they earn for their job.
Home (city/village/countryside- Where they live if they live in a house, city or countryside.

2.   Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics

Media companies and advertisers increasingly are using audience profiling and not just demographics is because Advertisers now adays are interested in more than just a social class classification. so they try to sell brands or lifestyle and they need to know more about their audience more than age,gender,or where they live as that information is not enough.Media companies use audience profiling to create a more detailed picture of their audience.  But audience profiling goes far away than these categories to provide a detailed and view on what it is really about to give a better understanding.

3. What psychographic group or groups do YOU belong to? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision.

The Psychographic group that I think I belong in is interests of what I enjoy is Basketball, Football, Listening to Music, Playing games, Spending time with family and friends, and watching movies I chose this because these are all of the things that I enjoy.
I also decided to choose to pick personality so how you are as a person. For example me as a person I am a sympathetic, caring, and funny person. The reason why I chose this is because if you understand a person's emotions it allows you to create ideas that follow what they want by doing this it gives us a brief understanding of the target audience, resulting in more marketing and communication skills.
Lastly Age helps you to understand how old are your audience and what your audience prefers as they have different preferences to what they want. For example, younger audiences may be interested in social media, and music while older people are into money,success etc.
